My setup up for macro photography.... I don't use this configuration when shooting watches but this is how I roll when shooting macro (my passion)
World class quality, eyes on many fronts opened, wild to say the least. Now I understand the Mr. Wolf avatar. WOW
Nice rig and great photos. Mine is not nearly so elaborate... And I actually did a lot of the macro photos hand held, so that limits the use of extension tubes as very slight movements can make a photo blurry. I found even the shutter can cause enough vibration to be problematic at times. I haven't taken any in a long time, but for a while I dabbled in taking macros...just things that I saw that I thought were unusual, like this odd leaf change: I liked how this shot looks a bit like a satellite image looking down on a river system: Closer look: Hot stuff: Odd spider: Shrooms: And yes flies as well...this one was shot hand held in a National Park: Drip drop: Just don't have time to do much of this anymore...
My wife just bought a lite box. Not sure how it works yet, but used my pixel 3 to take a quick shot. Will play with it more and then share her setup.
Ditto, lens angle to watch also has an impact on amount of reflection. Move the camera around and experiment.
You can get good results by simplifying: Definitely use tripod, do not use flash, get by a window, move till watch looks good,
this. I find the light boxes very restrictive and limit creativity. A good macro lens would be a better investment
you can get great shots with an iPhone on a tripod with indirect lighting. to quote an outdated phrase: “It’s the Indian, not the arrow”
Usually, I’ll jist take photos outside in the natural light. If I absolutely need the photos and it’s its raining outside, I go near a window and see how they look
