This is post card material. Beautiful
Thanks - but I have to say that Monument Valley is so full of great vistas that it is hard to take a bad photograph. This one is my desktop background.

Just had a trawl through some of our holiday photos. Pics from Thailand, Vietnam, Iceland, California, The Maldives, Scotland, Venice, Croatia, Spain, South Africa and not forgetting my home county in the UK, beautiful Yorkshire.

Longer shadows as we approach September makes for this interesting sunset. Blue sky, the tree canopy and then on the bottom, the sunset shooting through

I just stumbled upon this thread, so I have a fair few sunrise/set pics

In December I spontaneously decided to drive to Big Sur in California to see the sunrise. I left my house at 12am and 4 hours later, arrived to sleep in my car for a couple hours. I have a bunch of pics pre sunrise but those don't count for this thread. This image is actually a panorama, which created a large file. I had to drastically compress it just to upload.

Also in December, I spontaneously wanted to drive to Joshua Tree California to see the Milky Way. This photo was taken between 1 and 2am. It's not photoshopped. It looks like a sunset because the light pollution in the distance from all of the Casino's. Soon after this I sold al of my digital gear and migrated solely to film as that is what held my heart. I forgot how large my digital files were... had to compress this one too.

In Yosemite, I set up my Bronica ETRSi medium format film camera and wide angle lens in the river behind my campsite. Stacked a polarizing filter (for the glare and stones) against a soft ND grad, and waited for the right light. I forgot what film this was but I want to say it was Ektar. This was roughly a 45 second exposure. Had to compress this one as well 🤦 (@JwRosenthal looking at this image desperately makes me want to switch to large format).

Last time it snowed I drove up to the mountains, parked safely along the road, and hiked up into the hills with my Hasselblad and tripod. Set up my filters and used FujiFilm 400H film.
