    hey gang,

I've been thinking about a GMT for a while now, but I'm sure there's GMTs out there that I'm not aware of... obviously, I can't get a GMT Speedmaster, so here's a few I sort of like the look of.

general parameters, 42mm max, steel, preferably black dial. brand doesn't matter. no chronographs, and ...probably not vintage..., but not necessarily brand new. And *not* Rolex. Nice watches, but not for me.

right now, the Twin Time is top of the list (of these).

    Some pics...

and of course, the Planet Ocean GMT, though it's bordering on too big..

I used to have a Deville GMT, but the wife has swiped it. maybe i should just get another one. it's a very nice little (cal. 2500-based) GMT.. 38.5mm, and not too thick. all 'round a very nice watch.

feedback and suggestions are very much appreciated!

I always liked the sporty/casual look of the Sinn 856 UTC...but from those above, the DeVille would be my choice..

If I had bigger wrists, I'd own a Mühle Seebatallion:

How about Grand Seiko? They make some tasty pieces.

Why? Caliber 861 with the GMT function added.

Everything you like about the Speedy with a nice color touch on top

That’s no fair, asking a question and giving a solid answer at the same time? I love my EXP II and would suggest the Polar 16570, but you ruled out Rolex. Therefore, I think the Deville is about as beautiful, elegant and understated as anything you’ll find.

Grand Seiko just came out with a green dialed automatic (not the springdrive) watch that looks gorgeous, and not so expensive all things considered. For a lower budget, I'd go with an Airman, I owned one and it is a great watch!

I think a stock Airman fills the role best. Good size amazing styling.

The new TAG Aquaracer GMT with the Pepsi bezel is actually kinda cool but unfortunately it's 43mm :/

Personally I went with the previous version of the Twin Time, it's slightly smaller and the date window is matching black. It bugs me when they put them in a different colour, especially white on a black dial.

To me, a useful GMT watch should have 3 timezone functionality and via an adjustable bezel and an inner 24 hour track. I've no liking for the names of cities. Though you compromise with the Glycine, by having the main hour hand running on a 12 hour rotation, it's the most functional so far suggested. Plus you won't break the bank buying one :)

Then again, I've never had the need to track more than two timezones on a watch and either my Magrette Dual Time or my Glycine Airman 18 fills that occasional requirement so I don't own a GMT :D

I wish there were more Patek-style dual time watches with a second hour hand instead of the 24h one.
