if you just want to use it for the internet iPhone does it as well. If you experiment a bit you will find out the right angles and which light situation is the best. I recommend the Snapseed App for editing.

Of course you can do better shots for your archive or your own collection picture book with a professional camera :D but if you want to do a wrist shot or sth similar why take the efforts?

Wow, that's nice. Was the lume color like that in real life? Or a bit more orange in picture?

That seems to be the best reason

I think photography is a lot about experimenting!

And to be honest I find it easier to do watch photography with an iPhone because its quite good for macro. I have a very good DSLR but for watch photography I would have to buy a special macro lens because with the standard lenses you need to keep a certain distance to get a sharp picture. You then have have to edit and cut the pictures.

taking photos is art. it needs a lot of practise and u have to be in the right mood

especially product photography is a pain in the ass. a light tent might be useful but not when u want some more emotional pics

As said before a modern mobile does it also very good if not better than a old camera

I think a professional photographer should know how to set the hands of a watch to make it look more attractive - this came to mind when I watched the outcome

    Nice shot. Gorgeous watch!

Getting these watch shots right is definitely an art. I have a high end DSLR and a new mobile phone and struggle mightily with the shots.

Hi @bags1971 thanks for sharing this picture.

The real gem of this picture is if you zoom in the clarity of the detail is amazing.

Photographing an Omega is hard work! Lug angles, domed crystals, etc make the right shot hard to get. Get the glare off the dome and find that the lugs look they’re melting. Get a crisp lug shot, and see yourself-not the dial-in the crystal reflection. Ugh.
