    Hi OF members,

I read a thread on patina on this forum previously, and noted a leopard patina connie of one of the member here.

Would like to get your opinion on this 2943 .
Is the patina on this dial generally acceptable?
Would you pay a fair/higher or lower price for this watch due to the patina?

    Your feedbacks are greatly appreciated.
    Thank you Screenshot_20180905-001302_Gallery.jpg

Eye of the beholder. To me it looks diseased. Sharp case though..

It’s all up to personal preference. Sometimes a nice patina might be worth a premium to some people.

I have never paid a premium for patina and can't imagine doing so either.

The OP's 2943 is quite attractive at first glance but the bubbling of the dial just below the centre pinion changes the overall feel from 'quite attractive patina' to 'damaged dial' IMO

If not due the bubbling on the dial I posted, I would prefer former with heavier 'leopard' spots.

It’s not my cup of tea, but it’s nice and even. Gives the watch a nice story too!

Would the general consensus be to give the watch n bracelet a once over with a cape cod rather than go and get it polished? Or leave it as is?

I LOVE patina, but agree it’s in the eye of the beholder. And even for me it changes from piece to piece. Personally, with the watch you’ve attached, I don’t find it that pleasing. It does unfortunately look a bit diseased.

I'd have to see the watch on my wrist to judge, I think.

I have this and it photographs far more speckled than it appears on my wrist.

I had a 2887 that also appeared in photos to be much more speckled than it wore:

Yes, the seller admits that there are some bubbling over the area. However the rest of the watch seems to be in reasonably good condition.
    Will upload the pictures later.

What you guys think will be the fair value for this watch? Or because of the diseased dial, it don't really holds any value.

Thanks again for all the feedbacks.

If you are seriously considering it I'd first want to see more photo's of the dial with the hands in different positions to fully assess the bubbling.

    What is the asking?

I think the case looks in good shape.
If you like the dial as is and the price is within your budget. GO FOR IT.
But if you're an impulsive buyer or a flipper'r. Hold out.
    Better examples will come along.

Didn't you have a leopard 2943? I seem to remember it from my early days on OF :)

    I was considering it.
I can accept leopard patina, but not a diseased dial.

I will upload more pics of the watch in a moment. As for more pic on the dial, the seller will send to me later.
It is asking for about 550 GBP.

    Im not planning to flip.
This would probably be my first Vintage watch ( if I decided to go for it).
Still considering it, while waiting for more pics of the dial from the seller

Would this type of patina be more desirable/ accepting? Screenshot_20180905-140227_Gallery.jpg
