Hello All,

For those of you who have purchased the factory leather strap with deployant clasp for your Omega Speedmaster (sapphire crystal), could you tell me the exact length of it? The official Omega website lists it as 100/105 mm, but I have doubts. I’m having a custom alligator strap made for mine and want to be sure the length matches the original exactly. Btw I’ve tried a speedy with the original leather strap once and the fitment was perfect. I’ve attached photo of the strap.

Here’s the link to the product listing

Thank you.

105 x 100 mm is pretty close. I just measured my 45th Snoopy Cordura deployant strap (CWZ003436) and that's the measurements I come up with.

Frankly, I think the 6 o'clock end of the strap (with the holes) is too long. On my 7 1/4" wrist I have it on the second to last hole (measured from the watch head) with too much tail (5 empty holes). I go for a 95 x 100 mm size when I get custom made Omega deployant straps made (Genteel Handmade), and they are the right length for me.

As always, YMMV.

Thanks very much for measuring your strap for me I really appreciate it. Regarding your custom-made straps, I believe that the 6 o’clock strap (the one with the holes) made with a length of 100 mm? Also, with the other end being 95 mm, do you have any trouble keeping the watch centered on your wrist? Wouldn’t the watch face tend to crank or shift toward the left side of your wrist?” (If you wear your watches on your left hand that is). Pardon me if I’m having trouble articulating the problem. I’ve attached some wrist shots which wasn’t easy to capture by myself btw but hopefully they’ll make some sense. 😀 btw the length of the strap on photos is 115/105mm. My wrist size is about 7” give or take.

I’ve had few custom straps made mostly by Etsy sellers but neither fitted perfectly. So thought of going the original length this time as last resort before completely giving up on the idea of straps with deployant clasps. Greatly appreciate if you share your thoughts so that I can get them to make the strap in the best length possible. Cheers.

95 mm for the 6 o'clock side (with holes), 100 mm for the other piece. The standard Omega strap at 105 mm for the hole side centers the buckle well enough but you wind up with way too much tail. Shorten it to 95 mm and you'll get a better overall fit.
