    Hi all

Stepping out of my comfort zone with this Lemania I found on an auction site. Something with it that I really like, but I don't know very much about Lemania!

Can someone give me some feedback or info on this one? Looks genuine? Condition? Seller does not know to much about it besides the fact that it should be an early super compressor most likely with cal 3000 fitted.

    Appreciate any assistance! 299721922_8fbe698c-2c76-43c3-b8c9-84cc801b8d4f.jpg 299721922_508b3970-81f4-404a-9307-8290a4f30d7f.jpg 299721922_a7a39efc-50f1-46f2-a092-1d6d9da50b7c.jpg Cheers!

    Hi
What does the term "Super Compressor" refer to?
Is it the method used to insure the watch is water tight?
Case construction and screw back perhaps?

I'm no expert but it looks pretty good to my eye (assuming the crystal is to blame for the appearance of inconsistent markings on the subdial). Have you looked at this thread devoted to single crown super compressors? https://omegaforums.net/threads/show-your-single-crown-super-compressors.76743/

Yes, it is the case type, manufactured by EPSA and used by many companies in the 60s. Most had two crowns, one was for a rotating inner bezel. https://wornandwound.com/guide-super-compressors/

Interesting. Similar concept but very different method than that used for the Vostock Amphibia.
    BTW
My Midland has a case back very much like that of the Amphibia. A floating back that is held down by a notched screw down ring. I've not had the back off, no need as it runs fine and keeps good time. I suspect it is also very water resistant. s-l1600 (35).jpg

Yea... the crystal is in pretty bad shape apparently, but I suppose that can be changed or polished which should help the general apperance of the watch .

Super compressor was a system to waterproof the watch. It was designed a little differently then proceeding cases.

I see many similar examples but no matching dials... then again none of the other examples match lol.

Looks legit to me with the correct crown I believe.

I haven't seen this specific reference before, but it looks legit to me. I have no reason to be skeptical based on what I see. Early? Compared to what? We'd need to see the inside of the case-back to know the date. What is the size?

Yea... that is the issue... seller cannot open it, so becomes a bit of a gamble. So the "early" again is only his statement. Size is 36mm.

1186782B-F199-4975-9479-54E1F2F31B22.jpeg A great looking Lemania SC!
Beware that Lemania did references based on case design alone. Otherwise modularity seems to have been key. Due to this, looking at dial/hands and sometimes even movement ref can not be judged correct or not.
Case ref 920 and 941 will be correct for SC cases.
I own a SC with the same dial as the one listed.
Unfortunately it has been damaged by moisture and is residing in the parts boxes.
The signed Lemania SC crown is very desirable. Otherwise the watch appears to be in great cosmetic condition.
The cal 3000 is generally bulletproof.
If the price is not silly I would definitely recommend a bid.
I can not say if it’s early or not.

Thanks a million for the input! Feels good you have a similar one. At least we then have two identical frankens Think the watch could be very nice with a new crystal and some love. Will keep an eye on this one.
