Yeah, that one will require shipping to, eh, the Lemania HQ in Denmark for verification, etc. I'll forward the correct address to you. Yeah, the Lemania HQ address :whistling:

    ...

Looks very, very nice. At some point the luminous compound in the hands have been removed, but that could be restored if you'd like that. It looks to be a 40's piece equipped with the Lemania movement also found in a number of Omegas. Congrats

That's great. Thanks for the info. I'm flying a blind really although I did get it from my dad who was a watch repairer and jeweller. He wouldn't let me get my hands on his 1930s Omega but did let me run with this one. Thanks again. I'll have a look for the Lemania Hq address online Conelpueblo

It's actually harder to find the address for Lemania than I thought . Are they still trading?

I think you have a great looking example. I agree it is likely to be 40 50s. You could also consider trying to find a more appropriate crown. You will get further answers by getting a good watchmaker to take the back off. The inside caseback will have clues aswell the serial can be dated within reason. I'd expect to find a movement/caliber called 13ch.

There is a local hq in London. If it is more convenient. But the true galactic HQ is in Norway.

Ah he was pulling your leg. So was i. Sorry.

Here is some history about Lemania to get you started on the history. In short Lemania no longer trades as a Swiss watch brand.

Yeah, sorry about that - I was indicating that you should send the watch to me ;)

It really is a very nice watch. The movement I mentioned earlier is probably what's powering it, here's some data about it: http://www.ranfft.de/cgi-bin/bidfun-db.cgi?10&ranfft&&2uswk&Lemania_CH27

To get to know more, the case back will need to be removed. Usually then you'll be able to see serial numbers and reference number of the watch.

I wouldn't worry to much on missing out on your father's 30's Omega :)

    Hi.
Nice Lemania. The oval pushers could indicate a late 1930s to 1940s watch.
What's the diameter of the case?
(Measured across not including the crown. )
Bring it to a watchmaker and have them pop open the back lid. Take a photo.
The movement could be a 13CH, 15CH or an early 27CH.

All very well constructed, and increasingly sought after by the collectors.

I would strongly urge you to take care when selecting a watchmaker to service your watch. It requires respect and skills in order to preserve its value.

    Cheers.

Thanks very much for the info. I figured it might be relatively sortafter considering I'm yet to find one online which matches it. The case diameter is 36mm. I will certainly select the watchmaker carefully. Thanks for your advice.

    At 36mm I would expect a caliber 15 inside.
If you PM me I might be able to suggest some good guys for service.
    Cheers

This is how Troels scores all of his watches. People started getting suspicious when they realized the Lemania HQ in Denmark had the same residential address as the Omega HQ, the Tissot HQ, the Jaeger LeCoultre HQ, and a few others...
