A Canadian guy reached out to me in Australia commenting on my eBay listing Orfina Chrono. He told me me, that he can not find any Watchmaker for his Military Tengler Mil. Chrono in Canada. Any Canadian Watchmaker here, that can do the service for a fellow Canadian ? Parts can be sourced via Omega Caliber 1045. Just let me know and give me a ball park service CDN $ figure for a service only and I make the contact. Kind regards. Achim

Not one watchmaker in Canada can service that lemania 5100 ?? Can't believe it.... Now he has to send it to Australia and back? That's quite as long as you can ship on our Planet....

Agree.....ask Al, but be prepared for a long wait. I have a "guy" but he has been swamped by work from his AD clients who pay him a premium for fast turnaround and my 4.5 is "in line" for the last 12 months.

In Ontario, Archer, Ashton Tracy and Little Shoppe of Horology should all be safe bets.

Lots can. The question is, do they want to? 😉

It`s not that difficult to service. My Watchmaker here has maybe serviced 50 plus over the years.... Shall the Canadian Collector contact you, Archer ?

I know they are not difficult to service. No one is avoiding the watch because of that - everyone is simply busy.

No half good watchmaker anywhere is looking at OF threads searching for work I think... The demographics (we independents are a fast dying breed in my area) dictates that the customer should find a repaiman, not the other way around.

Yes, echoes my point. For some of the people mentioned, unless you are a VIP (whatever that means) customer your business is not needed.

It's just supply and demand. I've said it several times before, but the lack of watchmakers is the biggest threat to watch collecting that there is IMO, and it's only going to get worse.

I'd love to be able to say yes to everyone who asks, but it's just not possible. I had a heart attack 8 years ago trying to keep up with the demand, working 7 days a week, 12 hours a day. Not doing that anymore...

If you find out where the guy is located, we might be able to give more help.
