This is awesome and I want one. My grail lego set btw is the 8880 supercar, a kid at school had one when I was a kid and I couldn't believe how cool it was but the Saturn V is far more affordable.
QUOTE="abrod520, post: 704736, member: 16910"]The only thing that keeps me from continuing to buy and build Lego sets is the lack of space to put them in.... Well, that and the lack of innovative design these last couple years. Every new airplane / helicopter / truck / tractor is built with two or three main, specialized pieces. It was a lot more fun actually building these things when I was young, as opposed to just assembling them now. Still, if I ever get mega rich I think my mansion will have a room for Lego sets.[/QUOTE] Hopefully next to the watch study
I had both sets as well and could build the ship from the moon base set from memory. I have several modern sets but only keep the Yellow Submarine on display, the rest take up too much space. However I can see myself adding the Saturn V!
The Lego Saturn V looks ace, I can definitely see myself buying that. I spent several hours building the huge Lego Technic Porsche 911 GT3 RS kit last year - great being a kid again!
That's no moon... It's a space station! Mostly played with the bricks themselves as a kid, and I don't really get much into the new ones that you just assemble, but the Saturn V set looks very cool!
Wow backordered already , and next order won't ship until June 19th. I tried to get one in the store on May 31st and was told to return on June 1st and that I could not pre-order or reserve one. I could however call the store as soon as they open on June 1st to reserve up to 5 sets.
Have to wait until 9:30 for my local shop to open... it's annoying that you can't pre order, and the day before it's on sale it's back ordered on line. How does that work?
Speculators buy the big important sets on line via automation. They will be on eBay at 2x price shortly.
Lego has a VIP programme that allows you to order before anyone else. You also get to buy sale items before anyone else. The average run for most kits is about 2 years. When a kit is offered on sale that usually indicates it is about to stop being produced
I did get a notification to order but I didn't bother as it is my wife who is the lego builder in our house.
Some people might try to sell it over retail but I doubt anyone would buy it before checking with the lego shop first.
