That thing is pretty nuts. Hadn't seen the video before.
This was being discussed on an automotive forum I'm on and here is some math that someone came up with:

Info we have:
Bugatti cost $3,000,000 base to $3,260,000 for a few options (lol)
1ish years, 13,500 labor hours, 1,000,000+ Technic pieces.
13,500 labor hours in 1 year is 6.7 people working 40 hours a week for all 52 weeks. With holidays and days off lets just round that up to 7 people.
Senior Art Director Salary ~ $97,000
Project Manager Salary ~ $100,000
And lets assume the other 5 people make ~ $70,000 in wage per year.
In wages we are at ~$547,000

The going rate for some Technic parts on Bricklink are around $.02-.04 so we will say .03 and just know this is extrmeley innacurate.
Brick costs are $30,000.
Those Lego Power Functions motors look to cost between $10-20 depending on model.Average to $15 per and there were 2304 of those.
Tack on $34,560

No clue what the battery situation is but lets pretend they just used 2 car batteries and those cost me like $120 a pop so $400 for those.

From rough googling those wheels at tires come in at roughly $40,000.

Looks like we total up at $651,960.

None of this takes into account the non lego parts like the frame and the obvious chain and bearings we see in the pics.

Cool.

Hah let's just pretend that the kit costs half a mil. Who's buying it?

If it comes in at 500K, could buy a “real” 911 with the savings!

I have heard that rationale for spending from two of the younger female members of my household.

I didn't ask for it, didn't drop any hints, but it was under the tree Christmas morning. Whenever I turned my back on the build my 7 year old was in like Flynn. It looks better in the flesh than the publicity shots and the build is really interesting.

Not bad.
They just released the Corvette ZR1 and it's, uh, pretty bad lol

Hah I had to google "AIRFIX" and yeah, agreed, but still...lol
All the other kits mentioned in this thread are decent enough that you can pretty much tell right away what car it is.
I'm not sure I'd be able to do that with the 'Vette kit.

That’s a cool set. So is the Bugatti. They have one built at the local store

Crazy. Reminds me of the guy who built a McLaren Mercedes F1 in scale 1:1 out of nearly 1.000.000 matches.

You can do a search for cars on the Lego site. Lots of neat kits.

That Vette is horrible. The small 2 911 kit is way better.

My wonderful wife got it for me ... under the tree on Christmas morning - my son and I built it that day. It's brilliant.
