What effect on value is there with a watch having a LHD crown? Kill the value? Like a lefty trying to use a regular pair of scissors?
Offer a lower amount than asked to the watch seller? Or just pass because I really don’t need a LHD watch? I do have have left handed son, could be a future recipient.

I thought so, the lefty pelegos I think looks better than the standard...the lume anyway. I couldn’t buy it though as I would want the crown in the standard position.

I'm a lefty and couldn't wear a watch with a LH crown. I only feel comfortable wearing a watch on my left hand, so the normal crown is perfect.

I believe some Heuer Autavias were left handers. If someone has a left handed watch for sale, it’s a “sellers market”. If you’re buyingb OR selling one, keep this in mind.

Any Hamilton/Heuer/Breitling cal. 11 or 12 automatic chronograph is a left-hand wind by definition.

Except for the few Bullhead models.

Well, short and sweet, made a deal that was pretty good in my view after doing voluminous internet research about the watch and prices. It is a really sharp watch and won’t have a problem wearing it.

Sinn have 2 watches in the EZM range with crowns / pushers on the LHS -- EZM3 (3-hander) and EZM13 (chronograph). They're designed for the left wrist so the crown & pushers won't obstruct movement of the wrist and snag on things but when worn on the right hand they are LHDs.

I so nearly pulled the trigger on one of these, had a couple in baskets waiting to go.
Last minute swerve towards a Speedy as that itch was bigger.

I still have an itch for one of these.

I had a left hand watch once, but they accidentally put the dial on upside down and that ruined the effect.

Not really but I figure one could make their own left hand watch by simply inverting the dial.

I think most of the time the position if the dial feet would stop you doing that, and if it had a date or day/date they’d be turned upsidedown.

My lefty Stowa cal. 12 says hello !

They sell the feet and other stuff for mounting dials when making custom watches. As you say the day date would not work out but a non calendar movement shouldn't pose much of a problem.
I think it would work for a simpler type wristwatch. Maybe try with a cheaper model first.
Other oddities are the watches with the crown at the twelve o'clock position. Apparently some drivers or fliers find it easier to check the time with hands on the wheel that way.
I've seen one with the twelve o'clock at the four o'clock position, thought at the time the dial had somehow got knocked loose.

Not likely to ever need something like that but you never know.
I would guess that any one who has had the left arm amputated or paralyzed would need a lefthander. Though getting it on and off would be tricky, a pocket watch might serve them better.
Due to an old injury wearing a watch on the left wrist was uncomfortable for many years but I was not that comfortable with the watch on the right wrist either. kept banging the watch on things. For years I carried a pocket watch in a fitted leather case with a hinged belt loop. That watch bit the dust long ago but I still have the fitted leather case. A friend later gave me a Remington branded quartz watch with built on hinged belt loop and hook, no provision for a wrist band. I still have it, but haven't worn it in years.
