The Jack Reacher author, Lee Child, was the guest on BBC Radio’s ‘Desert Island Discs’ this week.

The premise of this very long running programme is that a public figure/celebrity chooses 8 records to take on a desert island and discusses his life and career.

At the end of the programme, the subject is invited to take a luxury item to the island.

Lee Child’s choice is an uncomplicated manual winding wristwatch. He likes watches but said that he doesn’t like multi-dials, automatics or quartz but just wants (and uses) the type of watch that you wind ‘last thing at night and first thing in the morning’.

It occurs to me that, for all I know, and given that we all use pseudonyms, he may well be a member of OF.

In one of his recent books someone drives a 1980s Ford Explorer.

Ford Explorers came out in the early 90s.

Happy retirement Lee Child and thanks for the fun stories.

My wife and I were watching a movie and the scene was taking place in 1958. The protagonist was driving a 1962 Corvette. When I pointed it out to her, she told me to be quiet and watch the movie. 😒
