··Sunburst dial fanThe Jack Reacher author, Lee Child, was the guest on BBC Radio’s ‘Desert Island Discs’ this week.
The premise of this very long running programme is that a public figure/celebrity chooses 8 records to take on a desert island and discusses his life and career.
At the end of the programme, the subject is invited to take a luxury item to the island.
Lee Child’s choice is an uncomplicated manual winding wristwatch. He likes watches but said that he doesn’t like multi-dials, automatics or quartz but just wants (and uses) the type of watch that you wind ‘last thing at night and first thing in the morning’.
It occurs to me that, for all I know, and given that we all use pseudonyms, he may well be a member of OF.
