    Hi all,

I have been wanting to find a nice Memovox in stainless steel for quite some time. There were many examples available online but seemingly most were cased in gold-filled cases. The stainless steel versions that I saw were often overpriced or with unattractive dials.

I saw a listing the other days where the photos were blurry, the watch was not advertised well, and no case size was listed. I tried to contact the seller with questions but did not receive a response to the messages. I decided to take a risk on this watch and ended up winning it.

The Memovox arrived yesterday and it is better than expected! The case turned out to be 34mm which is perfect for my small-ish wrist. The 37mm versions are still highly desired but this one works for me. The case is unpolished and both crowns are original. The dial has unique markers at 12-6-3-9. There is some oxidation to the silvered dial, which is usually the case with these, but overall it looks great. To add to the deal, the watch came on an almost new 19mm Hirsch crocodile strap which alone is worth $130 :). I'll need to do a service at some point but for now it is running well and the alarm works!

There are still nice deals and surprise pieces out there to be found -- this is why I think I enjoy collecting and looking for watches!

Great pick up. Those 12-3-6-9 markers really make the watch!

Brilliant dial and special find. Im not sure what the number font is called but it reminds me of mickey mouse- in a nostalgic /fun way.

Congrats, auctions are always a risk. But seems like the risk worked out!

    I really like it, congratulations!

I recently purchased a Wittnauer with similarly-styled numerals.

The seller referred to those numerals as 'deco', although I'm not certain if that is correct, or specific enough... I'm sure someone else (like @Syrte) can chime in!

Sweet LeCoultre, all looks great on your watch, except that I'm fairly sure those are not the original hands; they're too short... it still looks fab:thumbsup:, and that's what's most important!

Thanks! I do think that the hands are original. On these older manual wind no date versions I often see the minute and second hands touching the seconds track, as below.

On the automatic watches I've seen them go beyond the seconds track.

OK, maybe so. I just hadn't seen the hands that short before, but I suppose you may be right.

    Here's mine:

The examples in Basha's book are all the longer hands variety, too, but he only shows a couple of examples of the LeCoultre hand-wind alarms:

Thank you for sharing yours! I particularly like the one in the second photo with the dark orange lume plots. What is the case size on that one? Here are a few more of mine in different lighting as requested :)

    It's 33.5 mm w/o crown.

Thanks for the extra pics of yours... I really like the dual signed crowns::love::... don't always see that in the LeCoultre's. Bravo!

BTW, @aap has a nice UG with a very similar font (if not same) '12' that I love as well. Hopefully, he'll post a pic. I tried, but couldn't find it myself...

I know! And to think there’s only the 12. I hope it had more numbers.
