Le Cheminant Master Mariner chrono with Landeron 349 input requested

I've been looking at this watch on ebay for maybe 2 years. I'm digging on it and have it's black dialed cousin made by O and W and appears to be exactly the same but for color and dial text. I think the seller was willing to go as low as the low 2000s but no better than that. I like the L349 movement, even though it is not easy to locate parts. Any thoughts on value/price are welcome. I'm looking for an excuse to buy it...or avoid it. It's the only one I've ever seen and is in pretty nice shape.

That is a lovely piece.
It is an interesting brand.
I researched it when I picked up a two register chrono from this brand with a Valjoux 92 movement.
English brand, despite the French name.
Quality bits at the time, assembled and finished in England. Rare enough these days, but they do come up. Eminently serviceable due to the commonly used movements. Not sure on the Landeron L349 movement but the Valjoux proved no problem for parts.

I'm not sure I'd go north of 2k on this, unless you get a recent service receipt with it, but it is a lovely watch.

Apparently someone here liked it more than me. It's sold after two or more years on ebay just days after I posted it here. At least I no longer am tempted to buy it. I wonder if the buyer will post it here.

$2800 is very high for that watch

I agree, but there were absolutely no comps I could find to establish the fair price. I think he and I had agreed to 2k at one point, but I was waiting for a coupon back when ebay was doing coupons. It never worked out. If I had been more than 1500 usd into it, I'd have kicked myself, for sure. The black dial I have like it, branded Ollech and Wajs (same exact watch) cost me 400 a couple of years ago. Great cond.
