I’ve posted before about my Apple Watch besotted friend who thought he had a “worthless” Autavia. I was able to quickly correct that assumption here. Here is another “worthless” watch, purchased in the early, mid 80s. I’m not believing the high valuation in Gallet world. It does not run but boy is it clean! Told him it needs a $4-500 service. I’m tossing it out to see what the Gallet rank and file think. $3-5k?

To me, the earlier ones are a little more desirable, but this one is still very nice. Seems very honest and I like the no-lume dial. With luck, I think he might get $3k for it, if someone felt that the DECIMAL deserved a premium over the standard MC45. Certainly a dealer might ask $4k or more after cleaning it up.

37mm or 35?

movement?

I think these later ones would be generally be 37mm with an EP4 movement (or variant).
