I’m slimming down my collection and here I am offering a Movado Sub-Sea Transatlantic from the late 1960’s in excellent original condition.

Let’s start with some basic info:

    Diameter: 36mm

    Lug to lug: 43mm

    Height: 9mm

Case: Stainless Steel case with bombe lugs

    Crystal: acrylic

Dial & hands: domed silver dial with vertical satin finish and what I believe to be markers with onyx inlays. Hands are dauphine style and the second hand has a really cool square shape in the center.

Crown: signed, pretty sure it is original to the watch.

Movement: manual wind Movado caliber 290 (based on ETA 2391). Serviced this year.

Strap & buckle: original period correct Movado strap with original Movado buckle (buckle is chrome-plated, not stainless steel). The original strap is quite short and measures 19mm/16mm.

    Additional info:

I bought this watch last year from Japan and had it serviced. Everything is clean and it is keeping excellent time and runs with a high amplitude (flat 300 degrees, hanging 270+). It appears the watch was rarely used because it comes with what I believe to be the original strap and buckle that the watch was sold with (ok, of course I cannot be sure about that…).

The watch has light marks all over, however the condition is great. There is a more obvious mark on the lower right lug. There are some minor marks on the dial that are hard to see without magnification (near 9 o’clock and 1 o’clock).

This is a beautiful piece that is ready to be worn, I would just change the strap to a modern one.

I am looking for 500 Euro, now reduced to 425 Euro (shipped). The watch will be shipped from the Netherlands.

Payment by bank transfer or Wise. This is my first sales post here on Omegaforum, however I will do my best to provide other references. In the past, I’ve mostly sold through eBay.

Thank you OF for the space!

This is such a classic, great looking piece.

And I think it's a bit of a steal given the condition...
