Last week I visited the NASA museum in Huntsville, Alabama. In addition to having a full Saturn V rocket on display (both outside and inside), there is also a full lunar lander on display inside . . . . and hanging right next to it a giant Speedmaster. Great museum and an awesome display !

They have one of those giant Speedmasters at Johnson Space Center as well. Can’t remember if they have one at Kennedy (but I wouldn’t be surprised).

I don't know about the watch size, but boy I bet it took a lot of Legos to make that full-sized rocket

Was the giant Speedy an actual working wall clock?

Well it make sense that it's where it is, as the bloody thing is so big it would be a bastard to ship it any further!

+1 on recommending a visit to Huntsville. I was lucky enough to buy a 2998 from an actual rocket scientist there.

I was at the Bienne museum for hours looking in every display case. Somehow I missed the giant watch! Talk about missing the elephant in the room! 🫨

This one is totally ok to wear while mowing your lawn.

I’d advise against swimming while wearing it.

Considering it shows the exact same time in both the OP’s & Spacefruits pictures, I would wager it is not. Unless, they were there at identical times 😜

I noticed that after I posted my question. Seems like a missed opportunity. It would make a great clock.
