Dear OF experts,

My mother gave me this watch, she has had for decades. Obviously, she never had it serviced since she owned it, and she doesn't remember the brand she was told it was when she bought it.

The only thing I can see at my level is the logo on the dial as my movement is screwed to the dial and I want even dare try.

The watch is tiny, really... Barely more than one centimeter, manual movement and running surprisingly well.

So, I wonder if any of the experts here could recognise the logo and brand on the dial.

Case seems to have a hallmark but not sure really it's anything special. Same I have no idea if stones are real

Thanks for your insights. I didn't know which sub-fora was the appropriate one to post this, should it not the be correct one, Mods feel free to move it.

You have left so many blanks that would aid us in trying to enlighten you on the watch. But I’ll take a flyer at it. My guess is that the case and bracelet are likely karat gold….possibly 14-karat. If you can get the mechanism out of the case, the case back will likely be stamped as to case content. The buckle on the bracelet likewise should have stamping that identifies the metal content. The logo on the face of the watch tells me nothing. If you get the mechanism out of the case and show us a picture of it, I am going to take a stab at it being an A Schild 1012 movement. Millions of these were produced. They were a good, reliable mechanism, easily repaired, and easy to get parts for. My guess on the stones is that they are blue sapphire. Tell us more, and maybe we can expand on this.

@Canuck Thank you for taking the time to give me your feedback based on my limited given information. To be honest, I didn't really see anything else on the watch that I thought could give a hint, granted I do have untrained eyes.

The movement could be visible removing the case back (where the green dirt is), but (a) this thing is so tiny (I even hard time seeing the details) and (b) I'm not sure I have the appropriate tools to do (without breaking the dial if I push too hard)

The case back itself has no inscription

Nor does the bracelet nor clasp

It is a nice little watch, probably not a lot of value, but it is from my mother, and it is something I'd like my watchmaker to service and clean so she can continue wearing it. Not sure he will be happy to work on something so small... I do also have a lady Omega watch from my mother as well, I'd like him to service.

I just wanted to know if by logo at the logo on the dial, some of our knowledgeable members would recognise the brand.

Your extra pictures help a lot. The bracelet is not karat gold, but plated. The case? About that, I don’t know. The stampings that are likely inside the case back would give more information. If this watch has an A Schild 1012 movement (as I suspect it has), a watchmaker worthy of the name would find the movement to be no real challenge.

Gents,

Thank you for your time, and for your feedbacks. Much appreciated.

It will go later this year to my watchmaker, once I go to my safe at the bank to get her Omega watch.

I'll make sure to update this thread once I have more information.
