I actually don't mind that you know, that's what I call an aesthetically pleasing patina. I wouldn't be paying any premium for it but it wouldn't put me off as it does look nice.
Seeing it already USD 1300 now 3 days before ending, it will not end cheap.... Many patina lover bids for this
Yea its not perfect chocolate dial Speedmaster patina good, its just good enough to not put me off at all good.
Saw that, dial is very nice but the case would bother me too much. It's over what I would want to pay.
May just be the rotor that's been replaced. All the documents for cal. 501 I've seen only list just one part number for the rotor, even though there should be another one that I don't know. But that could be the reason why for the wrong rotor.
The 501 came in a 19 and 20 jewel version, so both are correct right from the factory. The extra jewel in the 20 jewel version is for the sweep seconds pinion. Also, back in the day you could buy the entire automatic winding mechanism (what Omega called the "self-winding block") as one assembly. It was available is both a 19 jewel and 20 jewel configuration. Part number 501.1026 is the 19 jewel version of the rotor, and 501.1026 20p. is the 20 jewels version - 20p. is for "20 pierres" or 20 jewels. Cheers, Al
I think I mixed up a bit in previous post. I actually try to say the part catalogs do not say which one is for the COSC rotor and which one is for the non-COSC. The watch in discussion should have the adjusted indication engraved on the rotor instead.
Al - Do you know if the 19 jewel part is available with the chronometer certification engraving? If so, please contact me. Thanks, gatorcpa
No rotors are available new from Omega - the 501 doesn't have a lot of parts available for it actually...
