    Hallo Omegoids,
I've mentioned a couple of times that Nürnberg has a historical connection with watches. The first ever pocket watch (sadly lost) was made here apparently.
I've also mentioned in the Bildungszentrum (Nightschool) at Gewerbemuseumplatz houses the German horological society, a major watch library, as well as 3 floors of cased exhibits.
I'm in and out of there almost on a daily basis as a freelance English teacher. On the way out today I snapped a few pics of the collection to give you a rough idea. It's set up historically from era to era. There's a bar code you can scan at every case and hear an audio description in a few languages.
The pics are not meant to be highly detailed. I just wanted to give you guys an impression. If any of you are planning a European tour this year and need a break from the Endless motorways to the south, this might provide a reason for a stop.
On a side note I do airbnb and offer nice accommodation and watch talk over a beer!! :)

It does look interesting, thanks for the tip and the pics, but it is definitely 300 kilometers too far east from my north south and vv route.
