I just won this watch but before I pay now I want to be careful. Is this a fake? I don’t think it’s the original back but as long as the watch is legit I’m ok with it.

Aren't 420 movements tiny? My guess is that it is below 32mm with a 420 movement... But it's just a guess... Also, it isn't fake to the best of my knowledge and he didn't make any guarantees as to the authenticity (above what eBay madates) so I'd say you should pay the guy...
Somewhat - I know the back doesn't say Omega in a triangle but it doesn't look like the original back. The inside is also copper, which is what real Omega's should have.
The suggested order of actions is: 1. See interesting watch on Ebay 2. Investigate its authenticity, including asking on Omegaforums if necessary 3. Bid Having won the auction, I don't think its ethical to duck out of purchasing it for any reason that you could have seen from the pictures.
It doesn't have Swiss markings on the inside of the caseback because it's not a Swiss made case. It's American, and if you bothered to do 5 minutes worth of research BEFORE buying it you'd know that's common for gold watches from that era. There are quite a few things wrong with that watch, among them that it's not a man's sized watch. It would be 34.5 mm at least. I think it's what would now be called mid-sized, or back then boy's size (around 31 or 32 mm). However, I could be wrong. Let's not even go into the hands and the lume. Oh well, you bought it so count yourself lucky that your n00b tax was less than $200.
Movement looks OK: http://www.ranfft.de/cgi-bin/bidfun-db.cgi?10&ranfft&&2uswk&Omega_420 Hands are completely off, I'm afraid. But for 177 $ I guess it's OK. Waffle dials are always beautiful.
