    Hello,

I just won this Vintage Omega Constellation Black dial Pie-Pan on an onlineauction in Denmark.
I was advised too post here by a member on Watchuseek's Vintage section.

Please give me your thoughts about it:

It looks good too me: It has etched Omega logo on the crystal, the original crown is also on it. Crisp edges.
I won it for aprox 1500 in USD

Allright! Sorry for your loss :) Yes, I had a hunch after my little knowledge that this was a watch to have! No it's time to gather together the dough!

I would like to have this on a black leather band with a period Omega buckle.

Sounds like a great combo... I like brown leather myself, a crocodile on these Connies looks great, too...

    Congrats!!

... and I'd suggest vetting the purchase here on OF before the buy for your next one, as you may not be so lucky ;)...

I was lucky too, however, and was somehow able to avoid the 'noob' tax, with my first Connie... but we are in the minority!!

Yeah :);) I have owned a Vintage Connie before, a 55 golden with black dial. Sold it a couple a years ago. I have regret that I did, but this purchase will straighten that out. I agree with you on the luck. Last time I bought a watch was in January 2015. It was about time now - got the itchin'

Looks good. The lume dots were probably replaced at some time, but that is no biggy.
Good price for nice condition and black.

BTH , this watch is a very good illustration of one of the prime acquisition rules:
When you find a really good watch, bid what it is worth!

    Agreed.

I always bid what I think an item is worth unless I can't afford it...

... just don't understand those bidders that slowly bid back to back to back in a matter of seconds... are they changing their mind about the watch's value with each one?

Lack of reasoning. Bidding too low never increases fulfilled hopes. ::facepalm2::

I bid what I could afford. IF I sold off some of my watches.

Your currency figures are somewhat off - you won it for appr. 2400 USD ;)
