Paging @Spacefruit for expert inputs, especially on that bezel. Any idea of what the asking/ final price was? Surely not a Porsched or a Ferrari, much less combined.

It`s nearly impossible to access/judge the Bezel with these pictures. And : Radium Lume ( Dial and Hands ) does not age that way.

Anybody know what it sold for?

The site looks a bit Japanese...So I Google-ished...

The first SPEEDMASTER 1st model, ref. 2915-1, has arrived.

The first model of the Ref. 2915 was produced from 1957 to 1959, with three generations: Ref. 2915-1, 2915-2 and 2915-3. The Ref. 2915-1 was the earliest Speedmaster, and there are very few of them. It is also extremely rare to find one in good condition.

The case features a stainless steel tachometer bezel, a hallmark of the first model, an oval OMEGA "O", a smooth dial with no steps around the circumference and wide arrow hands, all of which are in original condition. The luminescent material on the hands has been replaced, but the luminescent material on the indexes has aged evenly to a yellow color and is in pristine condition. There are no artificial damages to the surface of the dial, and it is in perfect condition with no notable defects.

The tachometer markings on the stainless steel bezel are clearly visible and have sharp edges without excessive polishing. There are small scratches throughout, but the SPEEDMASTER engraving and the seahorse mark on the edge of the case back, which are unique to early models, are still visible. There are no large, overly noticeable scratches, and the original shape is well preserved.

This very original watch has a 1959 Caterpillar bracelet with a small buckle that is slightly stretchy and matches the age of the watch, a FF movement No. 6, and two extension links.

The movement is the legendary Lemania Cal. 321, a watch that was manufactured until 1969. It is protected by a dust cover, has a column wheel and a shock-resistant mechanism on the balance screw. The movement is in excellent condition with no visible damage or rust.

The nr 6 end links have only 1 slot to reach for the springbar, is that correct ?
to achieve such ghost bezel

If you mean it is no longer a black insert ? that is correct as these were full steel ones. It is definitely worn and polished over time.

Yes, early Nr. 6 end links are 'single slot'... I would expect those to be correct on an CK2915.

I’m very sure that this watch has had multiple interventions over the course of its long life. They ALL have …looking fwd to the analysis from our renowned resident expert however.

The photos make it hard to see much, but the lugs are a bit chewed up for sure. Still they have nice clean lines. I agree with Larry. The chances those hands and lume started out on the watch seems small. But it's a real looker. In no danger of being acquired by me.

Ecit: oops, they are saying relumed hands, original dial lume. That makes sense.

I can’t speak to originality, but boy is that a beautiful watch. 🥰
