I really do not have a good camera, and I'm not best at taking them. Sorry these are so bad.

Looks great.. That would be the type of watch I'd love to pickup as my birth year watch.. What calibre if you don't mind me asking?

Nesbit's did a great job... I'd love to find a 321 and a 861 from 68.. Can't have too many if you ask me!

Italy, you have a difficult birth year for finding Speedies. Much easier had you been a year earlier or a year later. The 145.012-67 and the 145.022-69 are realitively plentiful. The 861 145.022-68 is hard to find. T he 321 145.012-68 is really really hard. I have each and the 321 took a month of solid hunting to find.

Of course the good news is that, at least, there is a birth year Speedie for you. Oldersters, such as myself are not so lucky.

You may be in more luck than you think! One very important thing to consider: the reference number does not necessarily correspond to actual birthday of the watch. For example, my 105.012-66CB has a date of production of June 1967, per its Omega Extract. Similarly, my 145.012-67 has a date of production of June 1968, per its Omega Extract. So, despite the case reference number engraved on the caseback, the actual date of production of your watch will generally fall within a -0, +2 year window of the date inscribed in the caseback. In most cases. . .for 105.003-65s, those dates can press as far plus 3 to 4 years!

So, there are plenty of options out there, for you to land the Speedy you're looking for!

That is really good to know, thanks. Got a question for you, in the year lets say 1968 did they make a speedmaster pro with a white face?

Watch looks great, congrats! What exactly did you have done? Clean, service, polish, and crystal?

They did the full service on it, clean, polish, crystal, new pushers and gaskets and it looks like the day I got as a present back in 1969.

That's very cool! I didn't pick up on the fact that you're the original/only owner of this watch.

Yes I am, it sat in my drawer for more than 25 years and I have the 1039 bracelet tucked away in the drawer.

That's where many say the bracelet belongs (frail/hard to replace/expensive to fix). But may I say: it really makes the vintage character of the watch stand out.
I wore mine to Italy on holiday, no regrets. It survived!
