So, for the experts, can someone point out the tell tale features that identify this particular Speedmaster?

    I'm not an expert, but

    Straight lugs
Prepro dial with low Swiss Made (no T's)
Alpha hands, minute hand reaches the minute track
    DON bezel
Chrono hand would imply 2998-5 or later, or the hand has been replaced

Would be curious to know the movement number and see some more pics!

As gemini4 says, more info: http://speedmaster101.com/2998-3/

very nice. looks like it has a very strong case. lugs look thick. i think it's a 2998-61 -62 or 105.002. the m/h hands look newer.
where can we find this beauty?

Thanks for the replies. I have checked out that site, I'm just trying to get a better idea of specifically what to look for.

    Many thanks for comments :).

It's an early 2998-61 with 18 mil. serial number.

Looking for a JB Champion Mesh with 19 mm ends. In case someone knows a good source, who's not going to rip me off, please let me know!!!

Here's a couple of new photos.....
