Hi everyone! I just purchased this Omega Speedmaster 145.022-69. Being told it’s a 1973 and all is original. Would love any feedback from some of you veterans.

    Thanks!

From what I can see, everything looks original with the exception of the bracket which is modern.

Do you have a picture of the crown?

Congrats! Looks ok, but pictures from the side would be nice.

Also, you might want to take down the picture showing your (someone’s ?) full name and address on a public forum ;) (just my personal view)

I may be wrong, as I am still learning and do not have MWO with me at work, but isn’t serial number “32217000” quite early to be dated for 1973?

    Looks great! Nice find.

Extract prediction on https://www.ilovemyspeedmaster.com/productiondateprediction/ states September 1972. I can’t tell if this is acceptable for a 69 SW.

Really nice dial and hands. A good looking watch. I think that the bezel printing is a little bit off. I am not saying, that the bezel is not original. The dots are sometimes really close to the numbers.

Congratulations! Wear it in good health.

How do I check to see if the bezel is original and the serial is period correct?

Just checked MWO. Your serial appears to be in the acceptable range from 31.009.xxx - 32.857.xxx. The production years are from 1971 -1974. The bezel thing is more my personal taste :)

Is it normal for the stamp inside the back case to say -69 on a 1973 watch?

For a 145.022-69 Straight Writing it has to say 69. Regardless of the production year. This is not necessarily the case for other references.

Ahh, ok thank you for the info. This is my first big watch purchase, I did a lot of research and the seller seemed very legit but just hoping I got what I paid for.

    Thanks everyone!

The engraved 633 ends are correct but the bracket (bracelet) is not. Yes?

Yes I think he meant the bracelet.

The end links are modern. Hard to be sure on the bracelet itself. Need to see pics of the clasp or at least the pins/screw in the side.

My guess on the bracelet would be an 1171 - pretty common replacement and works well with 633 ELs.

Working on getting pics of the clasp. Watch is on its way in the mail.

Curious if you wouldn’t mind taking a stab at what one would expect to pay for a watch like this?

I thought you already bought it?

speedmaster101.com has pricing guidance; hopefully you checked it prior to the purchase to get a ballpark.

It's certainly an 1171. It just depends what age.
