My first double sub register Omega Chrono, caliber 860. Movement number 277xxxxx, Circa 1968, makes this a contemporary of the well known 145.022-68 transitional Speedie which had the (then) new 861 triple sub register chrono movement. As the 861 replaced the 321 movment, I believe the 860 replaced the earlier 320 movement. The 860 caliber movement chronos were somewhat rare. Read that only 10,000 were produced compared with 300,000 861 caliber movement watches. A date variant was also produced, the 146.017 which sports a date window adjacent to the seconds sub register at 9 o'clock. The 145.017 arrived today in nice condition, runs well and chrono (all 30 minutes of it) resets and it has a spare tachymetre dial to complete the black dial on the watch. Both dials have TTs. As the hand/dial lume appears to match, I'm hoping the hands are original. Case is sharp. Pushers and crown are hoped to be original. The 1069 bracelet works well however the end links are not Omega and will be replaced. Certainly a less cluttered look than the similarly sized 35mm 3 sub dial 321/861 Seamaster chronos. Sorry for the crappy quickly photos BUT it is NFL football preseason and one must have proper priorities. I know other members have this reference and I would appreciate any comments, suggestions and opinions regarding this new addition. Thanks OF!
Nice watch. Football? How does that help you find more watches? Football. I have heard of it. Football. They spend most of their time holding it, Why isnt it called "Cuddleball"? Anyway, really nice watch.
FYI, you can spend some personal cuddle time with the NY Giants and LA Rams when they play at Wembley in October.
