Junk lot 14k Cyma, thoughts on the 14k flex o twist?

I got this out of a $20 lot of watches. It is a 14k solid gold Cyma from 1951 called the General. I think I know that the consensus will be to put a leather strap on immediately however..... I kind of like the flex o on it lol. It is solid 14k top pieces and with a bit of cleaning and TLC I think it makes it a more interesting period watch. The flex o is marked MARK VII 14k Tops. Thoughts?

Your watch your wrist. Great score for $20.

For twenty bucks, I would be sending that bad boy in for a service and wearing it frequently, with the gold flexo.

Since the pandemic when I found a lot of trouble getting straps thru the post from places foreign I have found a new respect for vintage straps including expanders.
Wear this beautiful period watch as it was back in the day knowing you have a genuine slice of period precise paradise.

Nice find! Is '14k top' just a gold cap over the outer sections of the bracelet?

Nice score, cool little spider on the dial! I would put a strap on it, but I get your point about using it as is. I think it's a win either way.

Personally I love the twistoflex-type bracelets. I’m of an age where immediately putting one on your new watch was SOP because of the crappy strap or bracelet it came with! 😁

Absolutley lovely. Cyma made a top notch watch as well back in the day.

I had a wrecked 14k topped bracelet come unexpectedly on a watch I bought. It was missing a cap or two and was mangled. I pulled the caps off and at current prices they’d scrap for €400. To be clear I’m not suggesting anything, just making you aware of the possible values !
