Hi guys, Does anyone have more information on these chronographs? From what i can tell they are 'Junghans fliegerchronos' from after WW2 and were pilot watches, but having trouble getting anything else as most of it is german! Anyway your thoughts are appreciated! Cheers, Edwin.
I know a fair bit, and certainly the auction estimate on those is way too low ! There are quite a few threads on MWR, or you could run those German forum threads through google translate. These three are all the second version which is the 88/0111. The first version, the 88/0110 didn't have that distinctive wavy bezel. Inside is the great looking Junghans cal. 88. They seem to go for 1500-2000 euros, which might seem low isn't for such a cool issued watch but the cases aren't stainless steel (they're plated) which I am sure holds them back. Are the photos of the backs now ? If not I would check that out, as sterile backs would influence the value. Also the cases look to be great condition, would want to know if they are original or have been replated. They're certainly nicer than the 88/0111 in my project drawer I'll pick up a few links from MWR now and add them to this thread.

Wow thanks alot! - a wealth of information. Slowly realising that i would not afford one let alone three of these!
No doubt they'll sell for way over estimate, but selling three variations of essentially the same watch as one lot must really cut down the number of prospective buyers. So whilst they will sell for a lot, the unit cost may not be too bad.
Actually a good point mate, I'll keep an eye on them. There's just too many nice watches to choose from!
These are fantastic watches. If you find you can't afford one of the originals, you might look for the 1998 re-issue that Junghans made. They called it the Flieger Chronograph 1955 LE and it is a very close re-issue, unlike the one they are selling today, which is too big, uses a different font, and utilizes a modular movement. The 1998 re-issue uses a Valjoux 7760 housed in a 38 mm stainless steel case. Good luck, Myron
I have read good reviews about the early re-issue, so indeed that would be a good alternative. I could imagine they aren't cheap though. I know Poljot made a replica too which can probably be picked up really cheap. No idea if they're any good or not. Here is a thread just found on Google. http://forums.watchuseek.com/f10/junghans-flieger-replica-poljot-357682.html
