Wrong hands and for me overpolished case - I like my centenary to have a crisp bezel as that is one of the first things to go when the polish is a bit much.

I noticed the bevel on the bezel was a little smooth too. 馃檨 Nice dial though.

What are the odds you'll be parting with a nice example of a 2500 soon?

Mike, what do you think of this watch? I really liked my Centenary, and while I certainly don't regret the trade with Desmond I would like another one in the best condition I can find.

D - I think this one is a very good redial as well. Look at the "Chronometre" font on the eBay watch:

Then look at this picture of a Centenary that sold a while ago on eBay (I think it was MSN's):

$(KGrHqF,!k0E6BgqnBg,BOkQ0LwqiQ~~60_57.JPG

The font is just a little off and the accent mark over the first "E" is missing. Also, the dial on the first watch is not two tone. I found a picture of your old one elswhere on this forum and the dial was just two-tone, just like the second picture.

The "Omega Automatic" font is just about perfect on the redial. Scary good.

You will need to look for a long time to get one as nice as the one you swapped with Desmond.

Unless MSN wants to part with one of his,

Yes, I'm aware of that - but I went on potential replacement difficulty. How often does a black dial w/ rose gold furniture Constellation caliber 504 come up - or any othe Connie with that combo? Besides, I reeeeeally dig the 2943. One of these days I'll add another 2500.

Agreed. It was a win, win for both sides on the trade.

I once checked out a Ref. 2500 Centenary for Desmond that was for sale locally. The seller wanted about double what you paid for yours and it wasn't close to being as nice. And that was long before gold prices hit four figures.

Just don't want to see you go after that particular piece. Not worth half of asking price, IMHO.

Agreed - that centenary has a refinished dial. Didn't really take a close look at the dial since the case was already a dealbreaker for me.

I don't really follow these, but seems cheap to me?

Yeap even with the toasted dial seems like a low price. Would be a good candidate for a redial.

Perish the thought! 馃槻

Gold dials can be conserved by removing the original lacquer and replacing with a modern equivalent.

This was a Drew Carey Special, very well bought.

Let's go Heat!

And so it begins again!

Night of the Connie Gold 3: Revenge of the Pie-Pan

I'm opening the bidding by throwing $1k at each of them just in case I want to melt them.

OK, with that I just had to throw this in.

Agreed, I would love a crack at that. Once the original laquer is removed (lemon juice? windex?) that dial is probably mint. Could you go without relaquering it?

And yes, $1370 was friggin' cheap! The versions with the olive branch engraved back (1948 models for the Centenary anniversary of Omega) seem to attract the most interest and highest prices. I could care less about that - I just want one because I like gold dials and the style of that watch.

This one just went off at ebay:

Very well bought watch - a very uncommon pink gold centenary with an original dial as gatorcpa pointed out could very well clean up. I was the underbidder on this one and perhaps should have bid more but win some lose some!
