Mike, what do you think of this watch? I really liked my Centenary, and while I certainly don't regret the trade with Desmond I would like another one in the best condition I can find.
You will need to look for a long time to get one as nice as the one you swapped with Desmond.
Unless MSN wants to part with one of his,
Yes, I'm aware of that - but I went on potential replacement difficulty. How often does a black dial w/ rose gold furniture Constellation caliber 504 come up - or any othe Connie with that combo?
Yeap even with the toasted dial seems like a low price. Would be a good candidate for a redial.
And so it begins again!

I'm opening the bidding by throwing $1k at each of them just in case I want to melt them.
Perish the thought! 馃槻
Gold dials can be conserved by removing the original lacquer and replacing with a modern equivalent.
This was a Drew Carey Special, very well bought.
Agreed, I would love a crack at that. Once the original laquer is removed (lemon juice? windex?) that dial is probably mint. Could you go without relaquering it?
And yes, $1370 was friggin' cheap! The versions with the olive branch engraved back (1948 models for the Centenary anniversary of Omega) seem to attract the most interest and highest prices. I could care less about that - I just want one because I like gold dials and the style of that watch.
