My esteemed comrade is a little behind. 馃槈 The G-10, 11 and 12 are now obsolete and the latest for this line is a G1 X.

Ooops. 馃槵

However there are several excellent choices out there in the compact camera world.

My back up is a pocket Nikon. They have a good macro function too.

Yes he misrepresents his dials, has heavily polished cases and in the past has sold some outright fakes - has been the star of a post by Desmond (still in the bottom part of the his blog's front page in fact ("Fake Omega Constellations Surface Again")

Review: I went back and looked at the watch. It the dial looks such that it may be OK. I was thinking it was an older model and the hour marks would not have been correct. However the dealer is known for redials and the bottom line is I don't trust him. If you make a miss call around here you have to own up 馃檮

No worries. You aren't the first and won't be the last.

But this guy isn't trustable for 100% authentic pieces all the time so I'd steer clear.

I would just not buy from this dealer period. Even his pieces which have correct original dials are overpriced and have overpolished cases.

Wondering if we should be starting to put a list in the seller review section of ebay sellers that don't mention redials, and sell put-together watches as fully original (and especially any dealer that lets fake sell)

Do you know how long that list would be? 馃槻 Plus, some of them might not know that they're selling a franken and are making an honest mistake in the description.

....hey, stop laughing. It's possible. 馃槣

Yea just the big boys, dealers with serious volume that are known to guys here. And hey, if they want to contest it they'd be welcome to come and argue their point 馃槣

Maybe just a list of the good guys, like the Japanese 3 and others we know. Heck, I'd even put Dennis on the list. 馃槣

Just wanted to add that the original ebay seller who spawned this thread appears to have sold a rare omega synchrobeat for $7000. This is the same watch that sold a year ago on ebay for a bit over $5000. Desmond would surely disagree but I don't think this price is out of line for this watch even considering the refinished dial, polished case and average at best movement condition. At the end of the day it is a rare watch - even if there were more than the mythical 17 actually sold.

If this is an actual sale I am very happy since it shows how ridiculously high the value of vintage omegas has climbed. Sadly, I doubt the sale is a legit one.
