Last night was a momentous occasion. eBay seller kstar1977 sold 4 Omega 18k Gold Constellations, all with de Luxe gold dials, at the same time! Four separate auctions, each running 3 minutes apart. Wow. Three 2853's and one 14382

In honor of the occasion, show us your Constellation Pie Pan de Luxe or Grand luxe. I know Hoi and Dennis have one and Mike has more than one. Surely someone else must have one or two as well.
    Let's see them,

In watchmaking, the name Constellation has been closely linked with the art of creating luxurious precision watches at the highest level since 1952, when Omega launched the family. It has always been defined by the combination of sumptuous yet elegantly refined cases and dials with ultra-precise movements.

Yes, and the Force tells me we have a new member of the club.

Okay, maybe not the Force - it might have been a phone call from the mystery buyer. :p

Since getting my 2799 the 168.005's wrist time was seriously waning, so much that I sold it. IMO these mid to late 50's De Luxes and Grand Luxes are not only the epitome of the Constellation line but some of the best looking watches ever made. Here's my pair of De Luxes:

    Yes it is, isn't it?

I suspect we might see more of that one.

That last Ref. 14381 was very interesting. I think it's one of the earliest serial number I've seen on a cal. 551. They are all very sweet watches. Congrats to the new owners!

    Oh no, you didn't?

Nope on both counts.... but I know something I won't tell. :D I already have my perfect gold dialed pie pan Connie. For that matter, I have my other perfect Connie too - the black dialed 2943. The air conditioner is fixed and I'm satisfied with my 50's Constellations. Bring on summer!

Did Grasshopper finally snatch the pebble from the Master's hand?

Well I sometimes buy the same watch over and over but I categorically deny having purchased any of the four. I felt the gems were the PG one and the cal. 551 piece because of its case condition.:)

Well in fairness even that amount, for the pink gold is barely enough to get you a pretty ordinary Rolex Datejust.

No kidding. I can't believe how much these all sold for. Lowest was $3300-ish; highest over $3700. He probably was trying to snag one for a bargain.

BTW Dennis, if you look at the picture of your SMPP up there, just to the left of the case near the 8 O'clock marker, it looks like there's a... suspicious short dark curly hair attached to it.
