The crown looks like someone has wound it with a cheese grater, but these jumbos don't come up too often. What do people think? Should this case contain a 344? Pictures aren't too clear, but the fonts on the dial match the examples owned by me, Melhadary and hoipolloi: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-O...825786699?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item51aed8ad4bPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
Here are some more 344 jumbos: http://www.1stdibs.com/jewelry/watches/wrist-watches/omega-yellow-gold-cap-steel-back-seamaster-wristwatch-circa-1952/id-j_98187/ http://www.ebay.com/itm/Omega-Seama...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network The one I owned had a 342, but the 344 was also a subsecond movement. The case is a little overpolished on the example you posted, but it does have a more uncommon square waffle dial.
Dial looks okay, just not great. The 2657 is a caliber 342. I thought the 2494 were center seconds 35x calibers?
I thought so too.. but they share a common case, the case is always inscribed with both, and people always misquote the correct case ref I think...
