I got it 5-6 years ago over in the states. The seller said that it was made in switzerland.
I'm assuming that the case was made over there. But i am not sure.

That's definitely not a Swiss hallmark. Looks South American in origin. Maybe Argentina or Brazil.

In the 1940's these countries had import restrictions requiring that gold watch cases be locally made.

Sometimes the gold content is less that than of a similar Swiss case, so one needs to be careful.

    Hope this helps,

So the swiss made the movement and shipped over to South American where they made the case?

Sometimes a jeweler bought pre-owned watches in steel or gold-filled cases, then had the gold cases locally made to fit the movement.

Either way, it hardly matters now.

    Nice watch.
Is that gold plated or stainless steel?
What model of movement is your watch?
    Is it 1940s?

    I don't own AJTT, so I don't know.

But I can say the watch is stainless steel. Here are some additional pics of that one.

On closer inspection without taking the crown out of the watch i don't think it has.
It has a stem tube but hasn't got a case tube.
PS. i don't know were your question is. I got an email of your question but i don't see it on this thread.::confused2::::confused2::
