Any reviews? Anyone collected too many coffee table books full of shiny, expensive things, and want to unload it on me?

It's not bad, but it's just pictures of semi-themed vintage Longines watches. It's not a complete catalog of a certain style or series, but isn't a bad picture reference. There are even some redials. All in all, if I had to decide on it again at this stage in my collecting I'd probably pass on it.

Anyone have a good resource to really learn about the different in house chronograph calibers that Longines made so beautifully?

Watchmaking at this level deserves well documented explanations / historians.

Shame their site doesn't seem to work right. I get an error every time I try to add to my shopping cart. I'd like to know the shipping cost, which is likely as much as the book itself.

Thanks, Lou, for the link. I'd never come across this book.

A while ago Longines sent me a magazine - a special edition by Chronos. It actually covers a lot of the vintage topics quite well. Nice for
a general overview. Copies do float around on ebay.

I also recently came across a Watchtime special on Longines. It's available as a PDF, I haven't read it yet, but it's free so probably worth a look.

In terms of Goldberger's book, I am much quite sympathetic to it, but it's focus is definately on Chronographs and earlier watches. Goldberger
takes pains to photograph the watches in detail and to highlight the various ref numbers. While short on hard information, having a lot of
the very rare watches together with detailed pics means you can start to make educated assumptions about similar watches.

I have heard that most of the watches in it are owned by the hedge funder Alfredo Paramico - but that is just hearsay :)

Can't seem to get it online, any chance you can share that PDF? The link makes you go through other links that never seem to work.
