JLC Polaris?

Also posted this in the "other watch brand" forum, but reposting here as looks like there are already some JLC threads..sorry for the duplicate post...

Took a look at the new JLCs today at a local AD. I really didn't think twice about them when I saw them online, but I have to say that they really made an impression in person. Posting a few (sorry for the poor quality!) pics. The leather strap version got my attention (and is frankly more in my price range) but I think the blue chrono is stunning. Anyone have any experience/opinion of these?

The reception for the Polaris collection online seems to be lukewarm at best. I, however, find them to be very attractive watches. I especially like the Polaris Date as it's very close to the original design without being crazy expensive like the Memovox limited edition.

The blue chronograph is nice, maybe a bit too blue, but I'd have to go with the leather strap/black dial as the better choice between the two for my personal taste.

I like the Memovox in this line. Having purchased two new JLC’s, my advice is to seek these out as gently used on resellers like Crown and Caliber.

Yes, certainly some mixed reviews online and frankly I was luke warm as well, but I was really impressed when I saw them in person. I agree re the leather strap version. I like the blue no date on leather as well. I'm actually debating between that one and a new Explorer 1....they're in the same price range but at 39mm the Exolorer fits my wrist a bit better. Decisions, decisions

Nice watches but I would buy them on the second hand market and save a bunch of money. Buying from the AD is fine but you can save 30% buying one that’s 20 months old

I love this watch! It's a bit on the pricey side IMO but it's JLC. I personally actually don't love the leather that it comes with but I love the bracelet.
Other than the fact that I don't have enough funds, its WR is turning me off though.
