I've got a JB Champion bracelet I purchased myself in 1968 and wore for several years on an Accutron 2182. I recently acquired a nice 3590.50 on a 1479 bracelet. I've seen a lot of '60s vintage speedmasters on the JB Champion and even some early 145.022's. I've tried the JB Champion on my 3590.50 and it looks just like the early speedmasters but I feel it might be out of place on such a newer model. Any opinions out there?

My opinion is you need to produce photos.

The Speedmaster Professional is essentially the same as it was in 1968, so I see no reason why not

I don't get the hype about the JB Champion. That bracelet will look bad on any watch.

The aesthetics don't really appeal to me either, but they're very nice and lightweight, and unobtrusive in person. I'd take one over a modern Speedmaster bracelet any day. Still, doesn't come anywhere close to the stretch-links for me

Agree. It's by far the most comfortable Speedy bracelet ever, and I feel like an astronaut when I'm wearing it.

This!! Your current watch on the JB is going to look just like it would on the 105.012 or 145.012. With the 3590.50 having the tritium dial and yours most likely having a bit of character I think the JB would look just fine and not out of place at all.

The 3590.50 is the horological equivalent to the single breasted suit.

Ageless classic style that can be matched with vintage looks or todays latest trends.

Thanks everybody for your comments. I've been wearing my speedy on the JBC for the past few days but it just doesn't feel right to me. I think to most people it probably looks flimsy and ill-fitting and detracts from the quality look of the watch - only us watch lovers know what it is. I also feel that by wearing it I'm trying to say I'm like an astronaut which few if any of us are; maybe if I was wearing it on a 105.012 I might feel different. I understand the homage aspect of wearing it but again that's lost on most people. It's the watch that should be the center of attention. As far as comfort I don't find it any more or less comfortable than the 1479. If anything I like the 1479 better since I tend to wear the watch a little loosely which works better with the more rigid 1479. I think I'll revert to the 1479 for now maybe look for a cool strap when I want to change it up. I'll save the JBC for times when I'm with other watch lovers who can appreciate it; all the better to preserve it.

That's just my feeling - others may feel different and that's OK for you.

I just picked up this JB 2 weeks ago. I think it works on my Carrera.
