Bond has been wearing Omega for the last 20+ years and 8 movies. I think that's long enough association where people think James Bond and Omega.

People are idiots, true, and don't get the concept of paid product placement. Those other individuals that have actually read the books know the only time Omega was mentioned it was the name of a SPECTRE plot to steal nuclear warheads. Others watches were mentioned beside Bond's Rolex, but no Omegas. Ever.

I can remember the Omega Seamaster being associated with james Bond back in 1968-or 69 when My Dad was presented with the Omega seamaster deville that I still own.
I remember at the time that Dad's Deville was not the diver style watch I expected the seamaster to be after having read that James Bond wore one.
Perhaps the watch in Dr No or another film was misidentified in some article that I'd read.
Off hand the only Ian Fleming Novel I remember, if I remember rightly that is, started with Bond sneaking aboard a train and taking out some bad guys with his original .25 pistol, so it was set before his being given the Walther .32 later on . Don't remember the title at all.
Only other article I've read on Fleming was one describing his personal gun collection. I remember he told of using dental mastic to mold the grip of a pistol to fit his hand before using it for target practice. He could remove the mastic later without marring the grips.

At my age there's a lot I don't remember clearly about the 60's. Anyone who does remember much about the 60's was just not having much fun.

Bond will wear a Casio in the next film to promote austerity, drive a Prius for environmental awareness, and treat women with respect and abstain from all unwanted advances or innuendo.

Sorry, but I still think of Rolex as per the books.

Just wondering...
Will the new film feature an Electric Aston Martin? ...With the associated “OK”
H.O.V. Lane sticker...

Politically correct in Vancouver.

.. and "Tomorrow Never Dies" ... and the titles with the word "Kill".

All these titles are starting to blur. Much simpler when they had titles like Dr No, Goldfinger, Thunderball, Octopussy (one that could never be repeated).
Live And Let Die was the only Bond novel to feature the word ‘Die’ in the title. It was Fleming’s second. At least he twigged it was a bad idea.... Die Another Day is the WORST Bond film ever made, and not just for its title.

I'd say "Diamonds Are Forever". Stupid camp homophobia and sterotypes that have aged poorly. Las Vegas as an exotic location. Bond looking like he'd rather sit this one out, but they paid him 1.25 million bucks back when that was really good money, so he's going through the motions. Bond assigned to an anti-smuggling mission that should have been the job of cops.

An invisible car that you can hide behind... a baddie who looks like he should be bog-washing Prince Harry rather than seeking world domination... a truly dreadful Madonna cameo... a surfboard-hanglider-thing... etc etc etc etc.

But it did have Halle Berry.

Almost all the Bond movies are fairly poor. Stupid plots, stupid villans etc. I really like the older ones but the transformation of Ian Flemming’s books to movies hasn’t been done graciously. Cinemasins on Youtube has some really funny “Everything wrong with...” of the Bond movies.

Having come quite late to the James Bond party, I find that D.C.s portrayal is pretty much to my mind the best. Sure it’s all escapism, for the largely male mind.
But I do have to admit Craigs series has been fun to watch and to occasionally day dream about. ( Yes, Honey...Only about the Exotic Locations and the Cars!)
I do like the style he brings to the whole 007 look, and then there is those
Wrist watches...or so I’ve heard...

Damn I sure do Love that DB 5!
