These rarely turn up for sale. One available on eBay item : 132677540183. No runner a bit risky depending on what is wrong with and if a hard to find part is needed.
This is a frankenwatch, missing at least one key piece -- the hack lever. These sometimes will turn up on eBay, but are generally expensive. This should have a Jaeger-LeCoultre signed cal. 837 movement, not a LeCoultre (US model) signed cal. 817. So the whole movement has been replaced. Here's what it should look like: The differences are only cosmetic and the watch will work perfectly well, except it will not hack like it should. More information here: https://omegaforums.net/threads/is-...onsidered-a-high-end-watch.21915/#post-238494 BTW, here is a watch exactly the opposite of yours. https://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-LECOULTRE-FUTUREMATIC-837-ONLY-500-MADE-MAN-WATCH-RUNS/263792363022Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network Proper JLC dial and correct movement, but in a US made gold filled LeCoultre case, rather than the correct E502 case on your watch. These are extremely hard to find, and when you do, they are not cheap. Good luck with your project. gatorcpa

Thanks that’s very informative. That would explain why it sold cheaply. I was aware that parts were interchangeable, however I didn't expect the incorrect movement to be in the model due to the differences in the power displays and dial size. Fortunately I decide the dial wasn’t in good enough condition and didn’t bid or do any further investigating, but certainly could have come unstuck. Apologies if anyone here won the auction.
The only differences between the cal 837 and 817 are as follows: 1. The 837 was never sold with US LeCoultre branding, like the 817. 2. The color of the power reserve porthole was dark grey on the 837 and red on the 817. 3. The engravings on the plate. The JLC versions of these models did not have the caliber number engraved on the rotors. They were all interchangeable. Hope this helps, gatorcpa
Oh sorry, got it. Didn’t know the movement or case ref off the top of my head and thought you were referring to the movement in the smaller futurematic (E501). Here’s a photo of mine.
Do you mean this one? https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=auto&tl=en&u=http://montresmecaniques.forumactif.com/t236-un-mythe-la-jaeger-lecoultre-futurematic Cal. 817 underneath the dial: Left porthole is the power reserve. All colored means power reserve is low. All white means maximum power reserve. Right porthole is seconds hand. Here is a post with a full strip-down of a cal. 837 (with the correct rotor). https://translate.googleusercontent...700208&usg=ALkJrhhrptxz9n3ay5KJAVMwjbA21P8Hlw gatorcpa
