hi all Found this jaeger for sale with 285 movement, case and movement are legit however I have some small doubts about the dial. The dial has some patina however the printing on left subdial has a different thickness then right. Also hands of subdials are longer then subdial. Would love to hear from you guys if everything is well and I can proceed to buy this lovely piece. Thanks in advance
There's a forum for other watch brands. Unless, this is a little known Omega. https://omegaforums.net/forums/high-end-watch-brands-forum/
If that's a redial, I'd like to know who did the work. My guess is a service dial, or possibly original. It has "Fab. Suisse" at the bottom. Since many of these Jaeger branded chronographs were made for the French market, that would be expected. Have you ever seen a correctly placed, "Fab. Suisse" marking on a redial? Yeah, me either. gatorcpa
It is most assuredly a redial. It might be argued, gator, that the bottom most/outer portion of the dial escaped redial efforts and so is original. We would have to see it more closely.
Vote for redialed center portion. Would have to see higher rez photo but looks slightly blurred and the 30 and 40 printing on the seconds subdial intersection looks off. Good work though.
