The first works with central seconds In 1938 IWC's first wristwatch with central seconds, the caliber 61, was manufactured. This work was built only on a relatively small number and soon replaced by an improved version of the c.60, which were partly equipped with a shock protection. However, this caliber 60 was soon replaced by c.89. The construction of c.61 / 60 was built as c.62 also with small secondary.
