Greetings, I have a gorgeous IWC Ref 3004 with a cal 2405 quartz movement. The date has been sticking and the movement freezes from time to time, obviously time for a service. I’ve contacted IWC but I haven’t heard back yet, but I was wondering how serviceable these movements are. I know the 2405 is basically an ETA 940111. Interested to hear what you folks think.
Considering the movement is still made and available for purchase for $200 I’m guessing it’s not an issue. I’m also pretty sure IWC will service it. If it needs a new date wheel a stock eta might not have the same font. Have you contacted IWC?
That’s good news, I wasn’t sure if it was still in production. I have contacted IWC and I’m waiting to hear back. Does anyone know of a good independent IWC watchmaker? Best regards, Joe
