    ABOUT THIS WATCH:

    MANUFACTURER: IWC

    MODEL: "Calatrava"

    REFERENCE: Cal. 89

    SERIAL: 119xxxx

    YEAR: 1945-1950

    DIAL: The non-luminous champagne dial is in fantastic condition. Only under the highest of magnifications can an admirer notice very slight decay surrounding some of the hand applied circular minute markers. The dial features pencil hour and minute hands - a class configuration from mid 20th century manually wound dress watches.

    CASE: The 36mm solid yellow gold case appears unpolished. The hallmarks are deep, crisp and defined. The claw lugs retain their factory original bevels with mirror polished anterior and satin finished sides.

    MOVEMENT: IWC manually wound caliber 89. Beautifully decorated manually wound movement that has just returned from service and comes with a 6mo mechanical warranty fulfilled by the watchmaker. Owner just needs to pay for the shipping.

    BRACELET: Comes on the pictured leather strap.

    ACCESSORIES: No.

    BOX/PAPERS: No.

    I’ll give you a free bump by telling you that there is no such thing as an IWC “Calatrava”. That is a trademark of Patek Philippe.

    It’s like saying Ford Corvette.

    Noted! I wasnt sure what else to call it and new Calatrava was a PP model so I put it in quotes. I was just using it to basically reference a 3 handed manually wound dress watch from the mid 20th century. I have since updated the title to eliminate any confusion. Thanks for the input!

    A very nice, clean example! I've owned many IWCs and these cases tend to feel even bigger than the 36mm dimension.

    Very similar to the one my buddy pulled the movement out of to melt the case. I think he got 350 he’s a junk shop guy I bought the movement somewhere here helped me find a (not gold) case. I missed it by 4 hours I was so mad but like he said he got bills to pay and keep the shop running I get that I just don’t get destroying history

    This was a terrific watch at a great price. Congrats to the buyer. If I didn't have 3 solid gold watches, I would have seriously considered this one.
