Hi all, I'm new to the forum and could use some expert advice. I, like many others, have been had on eBay after insufficient analysis of a constellation. The dial does seem original, however it would seem that the hands are not. Call it a mistake due or a rookie's stupid arrogance. That being said, I would still like some info in regards to what movement is featured on the watch. Can anyone tell me what calibre this is? And also, keep in mind that while I do really like the physical appearance watch, does it hold any value? image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

Dial, case and movement look correct. Seconds hand was replaced with an orange one, and the hands were relumed to match. A watchmaker who knows vintage Omegas should be able to source the hands for you and replace them.

So long as you didn't pay ridiculous money for the watch, you'll be OK.

For an incorrect set of hands they almost look half decent.

    ....... almost.

Hugs and Kisses from the last watchmaker. That's a cute touch, right after the Valentine's day hand set.

Sorry to say, but that movement is not the cal. 1001. It looks similar to cal. 1011, but it says "unadjusted" right there, so it must be cal. 1010, a non-chronometer movement that is incorrect for this connie.

Hope you have a return option.

The movement itself is a franken. It has the rotor of the later 101x/102x series, but has the balance assembly and the auto bridge of the 1000. The train bridge usually has the identification and serial number, but this one does not. That watchmaker was weird...

As it was, presumably, sold as a constellation and it patently is not. Then, if you paid through Paypal, you should be ably to raise an objection and get your money refunded.

It has also got T either side of swiss made. But I cannot see any evidence of luminous marks.

Name and shame, (fat chance), the seller.

    Good Luck.

I'm guessing, after 14months, if the OP didn't return the watch or raise an objection with PayPal, he's pretty much out of luck.
