Nice watch! this summer a local AD had this exact model on sale, because they lost the ZENITH distributor license. I was really considering a purchase, however the second Star on the Chronograph hand was somehow a deal breaker for me. Other than that, its a very cool watch!
Congrats!

Beautiful. How’s the legibility and height?

Thanks. Haven’t measured the height but understand is about 13.8 MM, which is good for a chronograph. So far legibility is good, think its color combination has the best legibility among the various dial combinations available. 😀

Looking at these, but can’t make up my mind on the 38mm vs 42mm versions. Unfortunately no AD nearby to try in person. Any comment on how you arrived at your decision?

Boom! That's a cracker. I've been sniffing around at these for a year or so; a couple of trips to a dealer haven't prised my wallet open as they only had it on leather, and I fancy a bracelet. I've missed a few on sales forums too. Would love to hear how you get on with it!

To answer @bama2141 above, I have a 6/7" / 17cm wrist, so pretty skinny.

I looked at the 38mm vs 42mm Zeniths side by side and I prefer the look of the 38mm (with the date window at 4-5 and the subdials almost reaching the edge of the dial, like the original)

03.2150.400/69.C713 - 38mm x 12.45mm thick (or on a bracelet, here)
03.2040.400/69.C494 - 42mm x 12.75mm thick (on a bracelet)
See https://www.professionalwatches.com/review-zenith-el-primero-chronographs-42mm-vs-38mm/ for side/side comparison

Big watches look and feel a bit weird on my wrist, even though I like it occasionally:

Monaco - 39mm (though wears larger due to its square shape) x 14mm thick

Seiko Kakume - 43mm wide, 15mm thick - feels huge

and finally, a Seiko 62MAS - 37mm x 13.5mm

So for me, it's the 38mm El Primero all day long.

Thanks. Wasn’t neither able to try it before buying it as the local AD only (which I called, didn’t visit) had the 42 mm model. Based on the specs and pictures of other people 38 / 42 models decided the 38 MM size was the correct one for me. I was right! 😀

I think the 38 MM is the correct size up to 7 1/2 inches (perhaps even bigger wrists if buyer likes smaller watches); it feels pretty much like a 40 MM watch on the wrist as it is longer than other similar sizes watches. (wears similar to my 40 MM Submariner)

Great choice - this is also my favourite of Zenith's modern watches. The colour combination, 4 o'clock date window and size makes this a stunner.

What a watch that is!! I have just bought mine on a brown crocodile strap and i'm waiting now to collect the huge box and the watch itself!!

This zenith has been in my wish list since september 2012 and i finally decided to pull the trigger few days ago!! Someone is saying that it is going to be discontinued soon because zenith will present a new model (39mm) with the new El primero calibre... Do you know anything regarding that?

Anyway, Congratulation!!! I can't wait to wear mine and post a lot of pictures here!!! 🥰🥰🥰

Thanks Matt and congratulations on your incoming! 😀

Have not heard anything about a new 39 MM version with a new movement. That’s always a possibility but am happy with mine as the 38 MM wears pretty big and any bigger would probably not be a good fit at least in my case. 😉
