Good luck Doc Savage.

How far is your move?

Do ya' ever feel ya' have an excess accumulation of stuff?

We do. It's moving month for us. We're "camping out" in the new place this weekend making it ready for our moving day October 26th. We're only moving 170 miles and remaining in Texas.

Thanks.

We have reduced our stuff over the last 10 years. Otherwise we'd never fit it all into this truck. But we still have too much.

Accumulation is always a challenge for us, but I think we are winning the battle, if you don't count watches!

We are moving about 450 miles, from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to Oakland County, which is north of Detroit.

I have been working in the area at a new job for about 6 weeks, and we closed on a house this past week, so it's time to move our stuff down there.

Good for you!

We're moving back into the home region of the Dallas Fort Worth area, but not too close. We'll be an hour away from both Dallas and Fort Worth. We'll also be closer to grandchildren.

What part of the UP? I have some family near Negaunee. I've avoiding visiting in the 25 or so years they have been there. Something about hearing 150 inches of snow means 'it barely snowed here this winter' presses the wrong buttons for me 😁

What's the EVH stuff by the door? So you have some guitar/ amp info to share?

looks like some mesa/boogie staff there
the guitar case looks PRS
also found a pair of head flush wedge monitors, probably into full range / flat response / modeling (kinda kemper/fractal) thing? or just floor monitor?

We have lived in Marquette for the past 7 years, 20 min from Negaunee. It's beautiful in the summer!

The EVH grill cloth is on a homemade 1x12 guitar cabinet. I wish I could say I made it, but I just bought it that way.

Good eyes! That is indeed a Mesa recto 2x12 cabinet. Also several PRS cases in that truck along with the HeadRush wedges. I use them with a Kemper profiler. Those wedges produce surprisingly good low end for such small size. My Engl SE amp is the king of the hill, and it goes into the recto cab. It sounds massive.

Nice area. On the plus side, the summer is quite a bit longer. On the other hand, the winter isn't nearly snowy enough in southeast Michigan! I lived in Ann Arbor and Ypsi for some years and miss many things about it (like houses priced under $1 million)

Mrs. flw and I live in Oakland County - I have a feeling we won't be the only two ΩF members here. I work in Bloomfield Hills, and the OB in Troy is amazing as well. Welcome!

Wow, small world! I don't mind the commute from BH to Lake Orion. I drive up Kensington Rd for part of it, and that is a beautiful area.

congratulations! Moving is hard work.

I contemplate what I would have to do if we moved…….I look at taking a match and setting it ablaze as the number one option.

You make a good point.

While we're having movers do the heavy lifting, there is so much that we need to be the ones to transport. Yesterday I made up a bjg load for placing on our long wide bed pickup. Mrs. noelekal cast an eye on it as I was about to leave to make the 180 mile drive over here to bring it and harumphed that: "It'd be more to the point to simply drive it to the lical dump."
