Too bad I couldn't have seen this post a little earlier. Since you displayed your order ticket and phone number is present I could have called and modified your order to "add onions" or something.

I love Omegas much more than I do McDonalds among the fast food giants.

Fun photo and great watch!

Bit of a derail but while we're on the topic of the middle east - is there any good vintage watch hunting in the region? I'm spending a few days in Muscat soon but google searches never turn up anything of promise.

I'm afraid I'm fairly newly installed here in Dubai so I don't know what there is in the region -but there doesn't appear to be much of a vintage watch market to be seen in these parts.
there is one shop in Dubai that I know of -but the prices are high because the likely customers are very well paid ex-pats and very wealthy Emiratis.

I have heard rumours of a shop in kuwait that sells modern high end watches, that the locals don t want any more and they are cheap too. Have yet to find this shop though but The local Omega AD in kuwait offered me a 1600 quid discount on an omega bullhead straight off the bat when I asked to look at one.

Thanks guys, appreciate it. It's an interesting dynamic. I'll give it a go in Muscat and write back on how it's like.

I've been to the old gold souk
I was plagued by guys -every second step - trying to sell me fake watches
-do they do genuine vintage watches there too?
