JLC have always been renowned for their high-end watches but during WW2 they were commissioned (along with 11 others) to produce a watch for the British military known as a WWW (watch, wrist, waterproof). The watches produced by the 12 manufacturers have become known as the Dirty Dozen amongst military collectors. Of the 12 watches the JLC stands out in it's design with the beautiful cathedral type hands (although Longines also used them) and the simple bezel and beautifully engineered movement. The 35mm size still wears well and it's a watch that quite rightly turns heads as it stands out from the crown even today - a real thing of beauty that transcends it's 75 years.....

....this one is actually the Australian issued WWW watch which differs slightly from the British version as the case is a different design and it has a bright plating finish rather than the dull British finish. It is also much rarer DSC_2011.jpg DSC_1988.jpg DSC_1981.jpg DSC_2046.jpg
