Since I picked up my SMPc over a year ago, I wear it 99% of the time. When i do force another on, I get depressed. I have a glutonous assortment of really nice watches, but still miss this one when we are separated. Will this pass?

It'll pass as soon as you buy a new watch, then this piece will join the other neglected pieces.

I thought this as I too have a few nice watches. However I find myself swopping between these two very similar watches.

Very different for me. I have three nice watches (did you spot the clue to that) and I rotate all three, in sequence, daily. Buying #2 did not make me neglect #1, and buying #3 did not make me neglect #1 or #2. I like them all equally, and love putting each one of them on every third day.

Eventually, some new hottie comes down the pike and I throw over all the watches I swore by, just to wear the newbie, the latest love. ::love::

I’ve had a long list of watches about which I said at one time or another “this’ll be the last one! I can tell!” Eventually, everything gets replaced. :whistling:

All things must pass. At least in my daily rotation.

Out of curiosity, I just went thru all my photos from the last year and picked out only those watches that I have publicly acclaimed my undying love for and planned to wear regularly. Some of them are still in the regular rotation but most are not any more.

Currently, my notorious affair is with this:

To be clear: in the old days, a love would last at least six months to a year, some times five or more years.
Now, a loved watch is lucky to last a month.

Of course, as always, I blame OF. I can’t want what I am unaware of. ::book::

I’ve quoted him before here: “How do we begin to covet? We begin with what we see every day.” :taunt:

Therefore OP, I strongly recommend that you spend MUCH more time on Omega Forum. MUCH more. I promise we will cure you in short order! ::rimshot::

I have a number of watches and used to rotate randomly wearing a different watch every day. It dawned on me that I was rotating for the sake of rotating and was forgetting to wear allot of watches, so in September of 2017 I decided to go to wearing a different watch every week or so to get a more diverse and complete experience of my watches. Since then, I've worn 84 different watches from 44 different brands.

What I've found is a week on the wrist is a great way to remind me why I own a watch and to remind me why I like different watches. I've got enough watches to continue the rotation for another 7 years, but will probably end the rotation in September.

Maybe. By the time my Doxa shows up and my racing dial Dynamic is serviced, I'll have a dozen watches in rotation with a few that are for specific occasions. I rarely miss the others when I'm wearing one, but I also wear a different one nearly every day.

Got 3 rolex and 2 omega this collection is down from 18 watches. Thats why more collection is no good and will end up most of them as a stock. I can only wear watch on my days off so I rotate rolex for the fist 3 days and the following week omega for 2 days off.

    It's a great watch!

What's your collection like? Maybe you should consider adjusting your collection to make your watches more specific. I have my favourite which I wear most of the time (as it works with everything) and then others which work with events (vacations, sporting) or how I dress.

    DanMaran - very nice collection.

I rotate the Omega GSOTM Meteorite and the Rolex Datejust daily. If I'm going to be doing something that may lead to damage the watch, then I wear the Seiko titanium.

I have 44 watches. As I packed them like sardines, all in little plastic pouches with silica packet, into my bank box last weekend, my son, looking on, was incredulous. "Don't worry I said, I will be slowly selling them off over the next few years. Don't tell mom." "Hold on he said, I need to see which of them I want to keep!" ... In truth I could retain my GMT Master 2 and My Todd Snyder Timex and be done with it. But what fun would that be?

Good kid. I was the same way when my dad was selling off some of his collection to fund an addition to my parents' house. There are a lot of his time pieces (not just watches) I couldn't give two figs about and a couple that I wouldn't sell unless I had to raise a random.

Due to my gimpy wrist rotation of watches for me depends on which band fits most comfortably on any given day and I often find it best to switch out to one looser or tighter fitting before the day is over. The flesh of that wrist expands and contracts quite a bit without a clear cause though it expands most when I do any manual labor or on hot days. I suspect its due to lost adipose tissue that otherwise acts as a filler and cushion. Without that natural filler dilation of blood vessels is much more pronounced.

I'm considering making a web/fabric band with a infinitely adjustable buckle similar to the buckle of a military web belt.
I recently tried out a length of nylon webbing with velcro that showed promise.
I ran across a NOS band of a type I've never even heard of. It was an expansion band completely covered by a leather sheath with a bellows look. Unfortunately despite being unissued and never worn you could see that the thin leather had degraded in storage.

I laways wear one of my watches more than 6 months, so it is quite difficult to rotate them all as I seldomly change them.

I go through phases of each watch pretty much. That includes always changing straps, bracelets, and NATOs to whatever I’m feeling at the time. Usually this lasts at least a few months before I switch to my next piece :)

Cut your collection down to 7 watches, and wear a different one each day of the week. Problem solved.
